Christmas is just around the corner. It is then that moments spent together, warm words, kind gestures and gifts from the heart are the most important. But where to look for the most beautiful presents? If you find yourself lost in a jungle of gift ideas, we’re here to offer a helping hand: we suggest a few tried-and-tested places where you can buy beautiful items for your loved ones.
This is the place to buy something for your loved ones when you come back from a business trip and don't have time to visit the city, or when you want a souvenir to remind you of your pleasant hotel stay. PURO's philosophy is quality first and foremost. Add to that pleasure and you have the perfect mix. The PURO Gift Shop doesn’t inundate you with thousands of options – the selection is limited to items that’ll make you relax and enjoy browsing. They all come from local artisans and designers and they’ve been created in collaboration with foreign brands that are close to PURO. You’ll find one-of-a-kind items, most of which are not available anywhere else.
Our suggestions:
A soft Norwegian wool blanket, a collaborative creation from designer Maria Jeglińska-Adamczewska and the Norwegian brand Røros Tweed. Choose from two versions, both in pastel and vibrant colours.
Freja silk slip designed by Natalia Siebuła for PURO. It’s multifunctional and is suitable both for home and for days out. Elegant silk satin combined with lace. Packed in an embroidered pouch.
Kimono Łyko – Polish linen at its best. Soft in summer, warm in winter. Comfortable and chic. In women's and men's versions, oatmeal and black.
Signed, limited edition prints by Magdalena Karpińska. Inkjet print, on archival paper. Created especially for PURO Hotels, the prints refer to the artist's favourite theme of the birth of Venus and the sensual forms of Hans Arp's sculptures and drawings. Karpińska was also inspired by the textures of stones, shells, sand and pearls.
If you’ve ever spent a night at PURO, you’ll remember the scent of cosmetics from the Polish brand Alba 1913, found in every bathroom – the series was created especially for PURO. Shampoo and shower gel, conditioner, hand soap, lotion and oil. All natural and vegan.
PURO PEOPLE magazine – only available at PURO hotels, a beautifully edited magazine about inspiring people. Artists, designers, makers and creative brands that we admire, follow and support. In this issue, read interviews with architects from Copenhagen-based design studio Norm Architects, designers Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi from GamFratesi studio, the creators of design lab Space10, and Polish product designer Maria Jeglińska-Adamczewska.
You also can find PURO Gift Shop stationary in hotels in Warsaw, Poznań and Kraków Kazimierz.
Second: Tartaruga and Friends
A new concept store in a beautiful golden tenement at the intersection of East and Włókiennicza streets in Łódź.
It was founded by Wika Podolec and Jadzia Lenart, who for several years ran their own weaving studio. It was there they met many talented artists and decided to gather their works in one place. In the shop you’ll find unique handmade items from the best Polish creators: home textiles, ceramics, glass, cosmetics, fragrances, decorations and accessories. The friends of Tartaruga include stars of Polish craft and design like: Hadaki, Zakwas Studio, Soil Ceramics, Star Glass, Nature of Scent, Latko salt lamps, Kaaskas, Wielonki, Papier plus druk, Iga Kosicka and many others.
East 54, 2U, Łódź
Third: good good.
good good is a place where good relationships are paramount. A place to exchange opinions and share experiences. The shop hosts creative workshops with experts and they’re also opening a café in the near future.
In good good you’ll find a selection of products, chosen for the senses – that is, experiences in the real world. Everything that’s aesthetically pleasing to the eye, healthy to the touch and in contact with the skin, everything that smells good, tastes good and sounds good. Polish and foreign designer ceramics, plant-based candles, soft drinks, collector's albums, the most popular domestic clothing brands and more.
Piłsudskiego 52 / intersection with Świdnicka Street, Wrocław
Fourth: DOM
Quality, usefulness, craftsmanship, tradition and its modern incarnation – these are the watchwords of the creators of Kraków's DOM. It's a shop where you’ll find practical objects made from natural materials – objects that craftspeople have devoted their time to and put their hearts into. We particularly recommend products from the kitchen, textiles, household and tableware sections.
