Q: Tell us about the installation that you’ve created for Biotiful in PURO.
A: “Prządki” / 2019
Out of several threads inseparably connected with the city of Łódź, I’ve decided to take on the subject of the textile industry. I interpreted the local heritage. Local but with a strong influence. I chose the motif of the bobbin, as a symbol of a beginning and promise of what might arise from it. I designed a fleeting composition in which the transparency of the glass symbolizes the spirit of the past, and the diversity of structures shaped into skein forms illustrates the individual contribution of each of the countless spinners and weavers whose work once contributed to the city’s prosperity.
